Blended Learning for Teaching Oriental Music

The best solution for future pedagogy is Blended Learning strategy, which provides technologically rich learning environments of any educational level. Music education aims at learning the art proficiently by developing practical abilities in singing and playing instruments, vital for dealing with universal works. The pedagogy of music must be much more comprehensive and attainable comparing to other subjects mainly because learning is done by imitation, exploration and improvisation which in return develop soft skills in students leading to creates a balanced personality to the society. The main objective of the study is to determine the effectiveness of blended learning for teaching Oriental Music in secondary education system. This experiment proposes to utilise synchronous and high fidelity technologies to mediate music instruction. Blended learning in this context provides a better platform for teachers to apply innovations through blending the traditional instruction especially with Internet and software applications such as Learning Management System LMS Moodle and multimedia applications as mediums of delivering instruction and enriching teaching learning methods. Given the novelty to develop an instructional design model of the study an objectivist and constructivist mixed approach is proposed regarding lesson planning, delivery methods, learning activities to improve students’ competencies which boost the employability in the field music. Identifications of this study would help to mold and cater the entire secondary teaching learning process by introduction and implication of the blended learning model to teach Oriental Music. The implementation would promote technology adaptations to improve students’ competencies, their attitude and motivation towards learning Oriental Music as a profession. This study is focal for a population who haven’t received blended learning training previously. Fulfilling this research gap present study will ensure to develop musical skills of future graduates, musicians an encouraging learning opportunities fit in to the world of work and knowledge based economy.
